According to the data, the phone is still as wide as the iPhone 4/4S, but growing in height to a measurement of 3.999 inches on the diagonal, to fit into a display panel with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels. This compares with 960 x 640 pixels at 3.5 inches in today's iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy Y Duos S6102 Android Dual SIM Android OS v2.3.5 (Gingerbread) with TouchWiz UI

Looking for a dual sim phone which is not as dull as dishwater is quite a task but this phone from Samsung is a superb exception. The Galaxy Y Duos builds on the single-SIM Galaxy Y with a slightly larger screen, a higher-resolution camera, larger capacity battery and, most importantly, an extra SIM slot. The latter will, of course, be its key selling point in emerging markets, but here's what else is on offer.

Apple iPhone 4S iOS 5 with iCloud integration

The iPhone 4S is still one of the best looking smartphones we've seen. There's just nothing new on the outside to suggest the amount of work done on the innards. And the iOS 5 is only half of the story. The iPhone 4S is promoted to the dual-core league and has more powerful graphics. There's a major boost to imaging too, with 8MP stills and 1080p video. And on top of it all, Apple try to take voice recognition to a new level with Siri. All in all, the iPhone 4S is a completely different phone under the hood. A brand new device that has been developed for months.

Samsung Galaxy Note N7000

Tablets are cool. But they have a purpose too. Larger screens, higher resolution and more mileage out of the battery make them better suited for certain tasks. That’s why people are not only fascinated by them but do end up actually needing one. What’s not so cool is the need to carry two devices all the time, especially when one of them won’t fit into any reasonable pocket.

Kindle Fire Wi-Fi, 7" Multi-Touch Display, Android OS

Like the world needs another 7" Android tablet. Well, maybe it does. Or (more likely), it doesn't. No matter where you stand, the Kindle Fire couldn't be less relevant to this debate. It isn't just another Android tablet. It's a hardware Amazon account, 7 inches tall by 5 inches wide. If tablets are for fun and laptops are for work, the Kindle Fire is for shopping.

If you put Amazon and the Kindle Fire in a multiple choice question, the answer won't be A) Because everyone else is doing it. It's more like B) We need to do for music, videos, apps and games what Kindle does for books. Simple as that.

HTC One V Android Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0

The HTC One V is the third member of HTC’s One trilogy, filling in the budget slot below the One X and One S, which we reviewed in the last couple of weeks. It’s less of a mold-breaking design for the company than its big brothers though, with the distinct chin and unibody construction that has won it plaudits in the past encasing a fairly standard 3.7-inch display.

The HTC One V features a unique curved-chin design that makes it easy to hold and a distinctive accessory to your life. But don’t be deceived by its compact size. Like all One series phones, it packs an impressive list of features including a best-in-class camera that captures every moment (even in low light) with crisp, vivid, beautiful photos. Plus, with Beats Audio™ you hear authentic, deep sound with true, finely-tuned details.

BlackBerry Curve 9380 OS v7

The BlackBerry Curve 9380 is RIM’s first ever-released Curve with a touchscreen. The Curve lineup is usually an expression of RIM’s understanding for a budget phone and this one supposedly, doesn’t make a difference. It should attract customers with a lower entry price while offering the full BB OS 7 experience.

The new Curve 9380 is basically a downgraded Torch 9860 – it has a less-capable processor and smaller and low-res display. Both gadgets look similar too, but the Curve's pricetags makes up for the differences.

Nokia Asha 303 Asha S40 Touch and Type platform

Nokia had two big announcements to make a few months ago. And yes, it’s a matter of perspective but, on certain markets, the S40-powered Asha series can be as big as Windows Phone. Anyway, now that the Lumia smartphones have had their deserved hype, it’s time for the Asha handsets to step forward.

The S40 platform got recently treated to lots of visual updates and the latest feature phones have joined the 1GHz league. The new Asha 303 seem to be sparing no effort to bring the complete user experience to traditionally loyal Nokia markets.

Samsung GT-P6200 Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus OS Android 3.2 Honeycomb

Samsung have tablets stretching from 7 to 10.1 inches of screen diagonal. And these are either Super AMOLEDS or LCDs with the resolution ranging from WSVGA (600 x 1024) to well above HD. There are 3G and Wi-Fi enabled combos or Wi-Fi only versions. Users can choose between 16/32/64 GB of inbuilt storage. With all that variety on offer, it was obviously time to go back to where it all started.

LG P940 Prada 3.0 Android OS v2.3.7 Gingerbread

It's slim and smart, and wears Prada. This little devil is too sexy to hang out with the other droids. It puts on its evening shoes and goes to town. It hates being chased by paparazzi but always turns its better side to the cameras. And by other droids we don't mean a certain Armani-clad Samsung Galaxy S. LG P940 Prada 3.0 dual-core smartphones with massive screens and the latest in connectivity, imaging and entertainment.

Nokia Lumia 710 WP 7.5 Mango

Nokia Lumia 710 has a tall task at hand. The second brainchild of the Nokia- Microsoft partnership is the budget-friendly option in the lineup. It will try to entice first time smartphone buyers, while battling the Windows Phone establishment in the face of HTC and Samsung.

While the upscale Nokia Lumia 800 is clearly the object of more attention for its impressive build and superior features, the Lumia 710 is expected to sell in bigger numbers and perhaps bring higher profits. From a business perspective, the smartphone is even more important than its flagship sibling.

Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II Android OS v2.3.3

Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II make it easy to get carried away. But wait a minute. There’s nothing quite like the Galaxy II. The brightest stars on the smartphone scene have graced our homepage, but this one is trying to eclipse them all. The Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II is in no mood to share – the spoils or the spotlight.

Nokia Asha 300

The Nokia Asha 300 may not exactly fit in with today’s standards of newsworthy. With smartphones flexing their muscles at venues like CES, sporting ever-expanding app markets, HD screens and multi-core processors, it’s hard to see how an entry-level offering could produce much of a splash.

Samsung I9103 Galaxy R Black Android 2.3

The Samsung I9103 Galaxy R rode in on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform and became the first affordable dual-core smartphone from the South Korean company. With a bright SC-LCD screen and brushed metal back, the Galaxy R is just different enough from the Galaxy S lineup to stand on its own.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 OS v7

The Bold 9790 is powered by a different processor and HD video is one of the first things scrapped. To make amends, the phone has what's probably the best BlackBerry still camera to date. Both the screen size and resolution have taken a cut. The Bold 9790 looks no worse than the Bold 9900 and costs less.

Sony Xperia S planned Android 4.0 ICS update

The Sony Xperia S is the current champion of the NXT series and comes aptly armed with a tack-sharp 720p screen and 12MP worth of stills. It sets a new design trend for the Xperia line and brings massive improvements to it. The Xperia S comes at a time of change in the Android world with quad-core processors and Ice Cream Sandwich looming on the horizon. The Xperia S is priced below those new-fangled flagships however, and in its range it's quite the fighter.

News: Samsung will launch the next model in the Galaxy Series on May 3

It primarily indicates that Samsung's upcoming monster-model will actually be launched on 3 May is that the manufacturer sent out invitations to an event May 3 in which the "next Galaxy" will be presented. That it is indeed the sequel to Galaxy S2 is not specified, but it may be unlikely to refer to any Galaxy model.

News: Samsung will launch first model with Windows Phone 8

It is rumored that Microsoft is planning a launch of Windows Phone 8 in the second half, and now the information that supports it. It is a representative of Samsung in Taiwan commented on the manufacturer's plans in conjunction with the launch of the big Android phone Note. As a manufacturer previously announced it is now Arc S, Neo V and Ray who are the first models out when upgrades to Android 4.0 starts. The three phone models are available in many different designs that will get the update at different times, among other things, depending on which country the phone is bought in, and if it is specific to a particular operator.

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7.5 Mango

As Nokia are starting over, the Lumia 800 would do well not to look back. It's certainly beyond the ifs and buts. A shadow still lingers though. And there are people out there - loyal Nokia users too - who would've jumped in the fire with MeeGo rather than the freezing waters of Windows Phone.

Samsung GT-S7500L Android 2.3 Gingerbread

It seems that Samsung has taken note of the major drawbacks found in its initial Ace offering, and provided improvements in many key areas, most notably a more robust processor and larger internal storage. In a package that has a 1 GHz processor, 3 GB of storage, 512 MB of RAM and a 5MP camera, the Ace Plus isn't very hard to recommend. If you can live without some of the extras, such as a larger, higher-resolution screen, front-facing camera or better video recording, you'll find that the Ace Plus doesn't hurt your wallet much either. And we really can't stress enough how fast Android runs on the Ace Plus, as well. There certainly are better midrange Android phones but they're either more expensive or not exactly brand new.
